Thanks Jack and 8th. And 8th, my only experience with 'production' is when I wrote Potsticker for Platinum Hit 5 and Sweet Tea, Sweet D for Drag Race

but I do write music to my songs sometimes and def like switching up the melody just a tad. That comes straight from Mariah tbh.
I lowkey considered ditching my song and just writing an anthemic pop song to one of the upbeat productions, but ultimately I decided that an R&B ballad, while not necessarily the
catchiest genre, was closer to my musical inspirations and a better fit for the story I wanted to tell. Naturally a ballad will be slower, but I hoped the actual melodies were interesting (and I sped up the pre-chorus so the judges wouldn't fall asleep!)
I think I have overall positive critiques? But I've read some others and I feel like we're getting similar reviews. Results will be interesting (though I might not be around to see them live)
