Only pone had a huge debut and therefore represents a statistical outlier; the majority of non-album singles released, even by major artists, don't have huge debut sales. CSTF and TWaF are literally the only two I can immediately recall.

Taylor's relative success is definitely insane when you look from a chart perspective. With the next album you could honestly probably call her the most successful in the US. But in the real world, that's just not the case.

And that's when you have to think about chart stats and what they really are- the BUYING public. Which is such a small fraction.
