It's not bad at all. It's good but your friend said you could see better results if you chill? Well if you want to see actual results in your legs you need to work them out at least 3x a week. Doesn't have to be 3 days of ONLY legs but you need to at least work them out that much

So your current rate is fine.

the thing is, most people say you need to take long break between workouts (I don't like the whole leg day, chest day, etc. thing) to actually see muscle growth.

what is the truth then? if you tell me I should do it four times a week, then I will, if not, then I'll just keep working them every other day.

You need long breaks between muscle groups.

For example what I do is one day I'd work on my quadriceps. Then I would rest. Next I would work on my soleus and gastrocnemius muscles (calf muscles) and then rest. So by the time you come back to your first muscle groups it would have been a good rest. But you need to work out at least 3x a week for any tangible growth
