Rather, Mrs. Clinton needs to improve her standing with white male voters, who remain reluctant to embrace her. In 2008, the Barack Obama campaign eased concerns about the first black nominee of a major party by choosing Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. to reach out to white working-class men and to balance a groundbreaking ticket. A similar dynamic could be at play as Mrs. Clinton makes her choice.

Personal Chemistry

Although they have tried to display sisterly solidarity in recent days, Mrs. Clinton and Ms. Warren have had a frosty relationship in the past.

In Ms. Warren’s 2004 book, “The Two-Income Trap: Why Middle-Class Parents Are Going Broke,” written with her daughter, Amelia Warren Tyagi, she all but accused Mrs. Clinton, then a senator from New York, of being owned by Wall Street. As first lady, Mrs. Clinton had opposed legislation that would have made it harder for consumers to use the protection of bankruptcy laws to absolve debt. “As New York’s newest senator, however, it seems that Hillary Clinton could not afford such a principled position,” Ms. Warren wrote. “Campaigns cost money, and that money wasn’t coming from families in financial trouble.”

In the book, she also portrays Mrs. Clinton as bossy toward staff members — an accusation the loyal aides who work for her have been particularly defensive about. Ms. Warren describes one meeting in which “Mrs. Clinton snapped her head sharply to the side and called to no one in particular ‘Where’s lunch? I’m hungry.’”

She also described Mrs. Clinton’s aides cattily discussing a congresswoman’s neon-red jacket and whether it made her “look too pasty.”

You guys just better prepare yourselves for Tim Kaine being on the ticket. I'm surprised they allowed Julian Castro to get so far in the vetting process seeing as he doesn't have the experience factor that Hillary said was important to her in a VP selection.

I'm not really pro Warren but a few slights in their personal life just isn't enough to rule her out.

It'll definitely be between her and Kaine. Maybe another coin toss like Obama did with Biden and Bayh

He's still an option but she wants someone with experience as VP. Warren having 0 foreign policy experience is bad enough.

Castro has even less experience than her, like his resume is so barren and bare that she dare wouldn't choose him even if he's still being vetted

Like Warren, also zero foreign policy experience but he might be even worse because he has no elected office experience aside from being a city council right?

It's like throwing a baby into a lion's den . I do like his ultra progressive stances and I do like the fact he's Dominican so he could help uptick the Latino vote but he's almost as bad as Castro with his inexperience.

In the grand scheme of things, changing the primary process is not going to change much at all. This year is unique with people's affection for anti-establishment candidates, and there are no signs of it being a lasting phenomenon. We will have many "establishment" nominees in the general elections to come. There's nothing inherently wrong with "establishment" candidates, only with people's misinformed views of them.

Hillary has been in favor of getting money out of politics for years, and has been in favor of a constitutional amendment overturning Citizens United for years, her positions on these things have nothing to do with Bernie.

And he didn't invent the 50 state strategy by any means, and if Hillary picks a progressive running mate, it's not going to be because of Bernie, she's going to pick who she thinks will work best with her and be the best VP for America.

And regardless of what happens during Hillary's presidency, Democrats are not going to have this country for a generation. Yes, the demographics are trending very favorably for liberals, but there will obviously be a republican president again, maybe as soon as 2020 or 2024, people will inevitably want a change, politics always swings on a pendulum.

But I do have to ask, how can a Republican ever get elected for the presidency ever again if the demographics are changing but the Republican party itself is not? If the Republicans carry the same platform they have been carrying these past few years into the future, there is not going to be much hope for them. If they mold their platform, then maybe.

I need to vent though, I live five minutes away from downtown Cincinnati and this has to happen when I'm 900 miles away for an internship?! My friends and family got to meet Hillary when she campaigned in KY and I was in TX for an internship... Why??
