you can probably find reasonably priced places to sublet in Washington heights, it's not ~that~ bad lol i know plenty of whites that lives there so it's verified safe enough And also it's right on the express line which skips about sixty blocks straight into midtown so thats like 15 minutes away at worst, the rest of manhattan would be 20-30 minutes away

umm "blacks" is not ok.

and what i mean by that is that law enforcement takes extra effort to make sure neighborhoods with white people are safe in comparison to if it were a neighborhood with minorities.

If 2k is your budget, stay in the East Village or the Lower East Side. You can easily find a room to sublet with some NYU student or something. I would sooner find a place in Bushwick or Astoria before I went to Harlem or, God forbid, Washington Heights...

I'd recommend Astoria, Long Island City, and Sunnyside here in Queens. Not too far from Manhattan, away from tourists, and still very urban.

Forest Hills in queens always have people looking for roommates. I'm sure they'll accommodate you for a month. This option would cost you 500-700+$. It's a better neighborhood than Astoria /LIC
