We shouldn't diminish or exclude the reality of a homosexual, but we don't have to agree with somebody being that way. If someone is deeply invested in a relationship with their religion, you're basically saying they have to give it up/adjust it to accept your reality over their own.
|
It's similar in that they have no say in their race/gender/sexuality.
You don't have to agree with it, but keep it to yourself if that is the case, unless you want to look like an uneducated idiot.

black men weren't allowed to have their priesthood until just a few decades ago but were allowed to participate in all other church servies. but yeah, i think this too will pass in time

Yikes, this generation is a mess.

Not really. You are not born with a certain personality. Being a flamboyant gay is a personality trait. You get those thanks to your experiences and the environment yoh grow up in. .

I'm sure you'd let people speak out against religion, though.
"Uhm, no I wouldn't?" = lie.

And what's their difference in this situation? What makes homosexuality okay to be "disagreed with" ? I guess you're one of those who thinks "homosexuality isn't natural!!111!!"

That people who actually know what it's like to be gay have a difference of opinion? And perhaps want to correct her? It's funny how you guys are okay with homophobia when it's under the guise of "coexistence and respect".
|
Right
No one is demanding she marches for equality or sport rainbow shirts.
If she's as a heterosexual women is gonna speak on homosexuals to the media then they have every right to voice their opinion on it.

But you just said it was a choice. Now you're saying it's a personality traits based on how you grow up aka not a choice. Which is it?

It is and it isn't, but it mostly isn't.
Imo, gender and race are like extremely definitive. Whereas homosexuality is something people are still leaving to environment and social issues. It leaves more room for discussion opposing it.
Sorry, you're not the same as black people.

Both and what I meant is femininity in men is influenced by those factors. It is not "natural", or a thing you get from birth like some member said, though

This coming from the person who entered asking people to respect his beliefs but swiftly went on to generalize the entire gay community,

I didn't? i was referring to some homosexual people you are the ones generalizing yourselves. Whenever someone says something about feminine gays y'all always think we're "generalizing" you.

Unlike homosexuality, religion is a choice. Gays aren't the ones making life harder for other people with intolerance.

I love humans & God.
I'm not trying to make people feel guilty or less than human, or whatever. I just hate the automatic "**** YOU, BIGOT.." response. Homosexuality = real.

That's exactly what you did.

Girl, the only transparent thing here is the space between your ears.
I have, many times, defended religious people. It is their right to practice their religion (as per freedom of religion) and I do not think it is my position to speak out about it as I am uneducated on the vast majority of religions. I do have a problem when they, or any one, perpetuates nonsense. As you are.

Well then stop defending religions, because most of it is built on what people would think is non-sense.
(don't stop defending it Religion = love)

OK in this context I draw the line, because that makes an incorrect generalization of the gay community. Maybe I'm just making a lighter, more friendly (more probable) assumption

They don't choose to be like that, they're just comfortable enough with themselves they don't try to hide it. The amount of ridicule and discrimination feminine gays receive, even amongst their own community is disgusting.

this as well. and generalizing the entire LGBT community as extroverted fems is too much. People shouldn't be judged for the courage to express themselves in a way that makes them confident and love themselves

I'm pretty sure that's not what she's referring to at all, and you're projecting your feelings onto her. Also mess at you citing out extroversion like it's a negative quality
