I can see why it would seem appropriate to continue the way we did thousands of years ago, but so much else has changed - if science is starting to prove to us that living on plants empowers us to be the healthiest we can be, why not go for it? Before going vegan I thought about this too, but seeing as I wasn't ready to chuck out my modern wardrobe, wave goodbye to my house and all my electronics, I thought I might as well pursue it.

These arguments are so incredibly ignorant that I feel like I shouldn't even bother.
The fact remains, if our ancestors didn't even meat, we wouldn't be here today. That's a scientific fact. You can twist it however you want, and choose selective arguments as you have done (as all Vegans do) but without eating Meat, humans would not be where they are today.
And it's also proven that a Vegan diet actually shrinks your brain without supplements and long non-bias findings will show supplements don't do nearly as much as the real thing.
Non bias being people who have died or suffered serious illness due to lack of B12 even with supplements.
