This is also why it's so hysterical when Beyonce fans tut about "urgh,

" as though Beyonce's blackness makes her feminism somehow more wholesome or genuine when her entire career she has been monetising her brand of independent-woman feminism, while having each detail of that career controlled by her father.
Not that I'm knocking her for it by any means, it's part of the reason she's WON so hard and I wouldn't look to any other pop star for serious feminist commentary, either - it's just ironic the Hive think their fave is truly on another level of woke self-empowerment
Nothing wrong with saying that. Would she have continued on to be successful had it not happened? most likely but she would still probably be under the radar a little no matter how many albums she sold.
