i am so mad right now.
so many of us agreed earlier this year she should have been releasing literally now even competing with rih. have two singles run their course before the superbowl and before beyonce starts her era. she'd get the #1 album for a bit, then rih would go on tour and she's beaten bey before (and will continue to do so) in the single department. then do third single at vmas. she can influence the sound of the climate however she wants with minimal competition, the last time radio heard her was TIHWD she has limited exposure, i hate her this wouldve been perfect, i knew rih would be no competition for her and ofc the secondhands like selena, ari, demi, etc....i hate her

We knew she was touring till late 2015 and she's stated many times she doesn't work on music (at least not with earnest) on the road. You only set yourself up for inevitable disappointment.

Must say it's a bit manufactured to go into this big writing camp/sessions that she does, she should be writing things on the road and drawing from experiences. Like how incredible it must be to have this enormous global production that touches millions all centered around you - and how isolating that must be at the same time.

That being said I can imagine how easy it must be to just focus on the tour and worry about writing after - I'd probably do that.

She's always collecting ideas on tour and putting them into her voice memos, but she doesn't really explore any of them until studio time.

right but the thing that always angers me with her is missed opportunities. if she adapted more to the status quo instead of sticking with a set formula her success would be crazy, for example in my above post you cannot deny that this would be prime katy time

Oh and as 2011 and 13/14 showed, she can easily take on anyone if she plays her cards right. I mean she managed to get 5 number ones when all of the girls were active. Imagine if she actually took PRISN seriously.

Sorry is like my favourite song right now (I know I'm late) but I don't want her to jump on the trend. I would love her to work with the writers Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter though. They could make something modern and fresh but still hot. Set a trend, not follow one.

This is absolutely delusional. As LB said, only her lead singles are trendhopping, not the rest of her songs.

Katy could've written/recorded some demos during her huge breaks on tour (May - September 2015) but I think she wanted to finish the tour first and foremost. At least that's what I think (even though we got some pictures of her in the studio in late 2014)
