I definitely think cultural appropriation is a problem, especially as a privileged white American (Katy, not me), the least you could do is ensure you're not just snatching whatever you want from any culture and presenting it any way possible. Like there's definitely nothing wrong with paying homage and celebrating another culture, but what a kimono has to do with some snoozy "Uncle" performance? IDK.

I know lots of people don't care about it, but that's only cause they're annoyed they can't do whatever they want without retribution (aka. what's been done by white people for centuries). On a lighter note, the California Dreams Tour > Prismatic World Tour. Obviously the later was bigger and better and more impressive, but the soul of the CDT was so evident and it was so fun, happy and at such an exciting time in her career. I live!

There literally wasn't a single bad look. Mother of god that was a tour!!

I've read all the nonsense. I know the arguments and all it's intricacies. I can probably present your case better than you can. The problem starts with the false premises which lead to false conclusions. I'm not going to argue it with you because I've been down that road. It's pointless with the true believers.My point was simply that calling someone uneducated is an ad hom attack and proves nothing. You might as well say their mother is ugly...it means as much. Of all the swipes at Katy this one annoys me the most. It's complete made up garbage. There's lots of real problems to be concerned about.

And never have I said that Katy is a terrible offender of this, but she does seem to think she can play dress-up in any way she wants and act however she wants while doing so - and that's not the case. It baffles me how few of you seem to be able to put yourselves in the position of an oppressed minority.
