Have any of you tried dating a member of these ethnic groups to know you're not attracted to ALL of them?
The entire idea of it is stupid, although it makes sense culturally that some people would have those same prejudices. I can understand not wanting to date certain ethnic groups for cultural reasons, though. Like I can see why a black person might be wary of dating a more traditional Asian because of the reputation for racism against blacks.
I'm black and I prefer Asian or White, but I have met so few gay black men that I have little to no perspective. All of the ones I've known except my friend Brandon have been either closeted "bulls" or Magic Johnson's son types. This paired with the traumas of experiencing intense homophobia and ostracism from the black community for not "fitting the bill" are what I assume have shaped my preference. but I think that what I want most is another misfit who happens to be a kindred spirit, and that definitely has no color.
