If that's true, Pretend might have messed up her momentum imo. She should have thrown out All Hands On Deck right after 2 On [a video like that at the peak of her popularity would have been >>>] and then Feels Like Vegas. I feel like things would be different for her.

The first thing she should do is fire whoever decided to let her release Pretend - it was an awful follow-up to 2 On. I agree it did kill her momentum. AHOD would have been the perfect follow-up, it's truly flawless followed by FLV. Her career is mishandled but voicing it isn't going to get her far :/

The reason they won't promote her is she works with big name producers, collabs with big name artists and then sells close to nothing. No matter how many remixes, T.V. slots etc she gets she continues to do poorly. This is even shade, the sales for all her singles are horrible despite the fact that they've all had at least a sprinkle or promo or some A-list collabs (sometimes both). She's not happening, they don't want to waste their budget

Jeremih isn't with them. He is a Def Jam artist and his situation is much more deeper.

"no matter how many tv slots"? she gets none, player got one performance... chris has barely mentioned the collab (maybe he has once?) so how are people supposed to hear it
most people still dont even know who she is yet people are saying she wont make it big, if tori kelly, the weekend and shawn mendes were in tinashes position they wouldnt be known either... they show up to every event and perform at every show.. tinashe gets nothing
2 on is the only single that got a lot of promotion and it went platinum

He ****ed one of his CEOs wives
Also, this doesn't seem like she's saying she cant promote it, just that it'd end up being a problem for her if she did. Seems like she has a limited budget and her/her team decided not to waste it on a single that is going nowhere.

I feel bad for her because she does actually have a nice personality and good work ethic. She should just go into acting. Because I don't see it for her in music rn. She's bland. Unfortunately black female artists don't have the privilege of getting away with being basic.

It's not a matter of being known; Shawn' (LOFTP) was already selling, before getting a major label push. Stitches was doing well with minimal airplay and callouts led to increased airplay; it was hovering around the 20s/40s iTunes before radio got behind it fully. I think some attempt at repairing her relationship with radio needs to be done.
It could be worse. Tori Kelly is everywhere and she has delivered 0 hits - she's the definition of major label cash being wasted.

This is not true. Pretend was a logical choice after 2 On, and it was produced by Detail who just had a #2 hit with Beyonce on Drunk On Love. He also produced I Luh Ya Papi with J. Lo, so it was obvious that RCA would push a Detail produced single. It just underperformed, but the choice was fine. She lacks promo and good outfits. That's it.

That's what I HOPE is happening actually, cause it'd make sense.
I just HOPE this is all that's going on

I am sorry, but I don't see potential in her. Tori has incredible vocals and a female-Ed-Sheeran thing going on, The Weeknd is, well, The Weekend, and Shawn is the new tween star now that 1D are on break and JB is maturing.
Tinashe doesn't offer anything new or that we haven't seen before. Yes, she is a good dancer, but I feel like I'd rather have Zendaya succeed in that niche.
That said, I love AMF. Maybe she should try the black indie girl thing, and pick up from where Solange's True EP left off.

Aquarius is anything but bland. But her singles are a bit misleading I guess.

It's not that they don't want to promote her, they just don't want to promote ''Player'' as it's going absolutely nowhere. It will never become a hit so why wasting money it?
And I agree with the ppl saying ''Pretend'' f***ing up the momentum she had in August/September '14. But it was HER decision, she wanted to release it so badly, while her folks wanted ''All Hands On Deck''....
She would definitely be in a different, much better position nowadays if she released it like 2 On -> AHOD -> Feels Like Vegas.
Anyways, ''All My Friends'' is getting bigger & bigger everyday so let's pray it saves this mess of a situation.

I don't rate Meghan either but she does deliver cute bops that radio can get behind, of course with anything that's put out on radio it is put to test through callout scores - these have proven to turn songs into hits or kill songs entirely.
