Well, in that 2012 interview for NBC with Matt Lauer, Adele said that she gave too much personal stuff away in interviews before and that in the future she will be more cautious with that.

I don't think that's how they mean it. Last time around she got emotional in nearly every interview and constantly had to talk about her weight, relationships, etc. And the gotcha thing likely comes from the backlash she got from her tax comments. I'm sure she wants avoid another situation like that.

I want to hear about her being a mother and wife though. It's not THAT intrusive, there's a way of doing it.

Doesn't every public figure do this to some extent? It's just stressful and awkward to constantly have to defend why you look the way you do, or discuss an event that hurt you, etc.

Her music itself is quite personal, so if she's talking about her music then she's still answering personal questions about her life anyway...

I'm not surprised Friedman doesn't know more or won't say more for the moment, and I'm not too disappointed. He's reliable (he's proven that in the past), and it's plausible to assume we will get an announcement from her in a few weeks if the single is coming in early November. We've got a month to go, and they're going to want to hype this up, let's be honest. I doubt they'll surprise release the single. I imagine we will get an announcement in the last week of October, probably.

It would make the most sense if they're waiting until that comes out.
