The thing with Quebec is that we basically govern ourselves I dependelty in all but name. As Hollywood said, our laws are based on the Civil Code whereas the ROC uses common law, we have our own policies for immigration. We even have our own
incredibly oppressive and extremely racist language charter that prioritizes the use of French above any other language. To the extent that if any of you decided to move here, any children you may have do not have the right to be educated in an English school in the public sector unless on of their parents has attended an English public school in Quebec.
Generally, I've noticed that outsiders looking in tend to empathize with the francophones but rest assured that actually living here as a (predominantly) anglophone citizen is a daily struggle. Personally, I couldn't care less, I'm fluent in both English and French as well as my native tongue. But what irks me is that francophones that want to move or work in the ROC or the US are at a huge disadvantage because by the time they reach adulthood, many don't even have a basic knowledge of English.
and if you all knew Quebec culture, you'd agree that it's not worth saving
