When you win a Grammy, become the forefront of a popular show, and are the most talked about person at the biggest awards show of the year (Oscar's) and one of the biggest awards shows of the year (Emmys)
I don't know why chart success would need to be dragged into this she didn't release an album this year or a radio single. There's nothing of hers that is obligated to chart this year.

That's why the tittle is given at this time of the year and not in december with the year-end charts and other tittles like artist of the year and etc.
