It can get hard to understand native English speakers talking in English, especially when they have fake accents or use old sayings. I always watch the show in English and then when it airs I watch it in German and I'm always surprised because I missed some parts.
Subtitles aren't the T, they distract.
In the end, I find the German versions slightly better because the voices are louder and 100% understandable,
especially Jessica originally speaks very unclear imo hihi.

I like subtitles even when I can understand the show. I am American, and speak english, however I also feel like American shows have a tendency to boost the acoustics of the room and music and not have the dialogue as loud as it should be. So just so I don't miss much I watch with subtitles when I can. Especially on Netflix. Jessica definitely does talk really low, or unclear at times. Jamie Brewer also is hard to understand because of her disability, but I let it slide cause she does her best.
