I just finished all four seasons. Im so hyped for Hotel!
I think Asylum is the best in over-all aspects. Murder House is the scariest though. But I
loved
Coven the most.
I almost didn't finish Freakshow
Best characters/portrayal: Violet Harmon, Sister Jude, Sister Mary Eunice, Madison Montgomery, Myrtle Snow

I legit don't know anyone who finished FS besides me, even my boyfriend who loves AHS couldn't stay awake for the finale (granted, it was like 6 am but that never mattered before).
Asylum & Murder House remain the only great seasons.

Asylum = The Fame Monster
Coven = Born This Way (Camp & LGBT serving)
Murder House = The Fame
Freak Show = ARTPOP (the "flop")
Hotel needs to be between Asylum & Coven (TFM & BTW eras) or even better ideally
