It's funny because she's specifically stated that she used to get the opposite reaction to her work and now she takes opposite action to get the reaction she wants; having people like it and enjoy it.

I don't understand what you guys want from her. All I see are complaints about how she's lazy, not that into it, etc. Lana has given us a new album every year and has never stopped making videos. As a fan, that's all I want. I could care less if she performed at award shows or spent more time on social media. It's just unfair to always be comparing her to these other pop girls you listen to. She's not that kind of artist. She's a true artist and she's not driven by your standards of success. She's very successful in her own unique way and I think it's amazing that she's been able to accomplish so much in a short amount of time. I mean, we just only got Ultravioldnce last summer and people are saying she's lazy?

I think it's OK to care about commercial success. An artist needs money to pursue their career in the long run. If you want to release your music, you just need money. Don't you see artists got dropped all the time and they will only take a lot longer for them to release new music with their own money. Hiring producers need money. Releasing your music in a wide scale needs money. Making music videos needs money (I mean you guys always crave something like National Anthem, Born to Die or Blue Jeans, they need money to be produced). I am 100% sure Lana does care about success to some extent, everyone does. We do. If she doesn't have a lot of money she won't be as dreamy and live the life that she is living now.

And the fact that Lana is CAPABLE of having huge commercial success. Now she barely promotes but her songs and albums still sell. I can only imagine how much more she would sell if she actually does some more promo. I see nothing wrong with it. But for now she doesn't want to do a lot. It's her choice and I respect that. I just wish that she won't ever go broke. That means when we will not getting new music very frequently.

I care about success because her music deserves to be heard by as many people as possible

If she sells very low numbers she will become irrelevant and people won't notice her, we'll be the only ones left

I'm not saying she should change her sound for mass appeal or anything. The material she has now is SO good but she doesn't get the respect she deserves. She's still kinda dismissed as that SNL chick and it pisses me off

I only want her to be successful because that usually gives you high budget music videos, better tour stages & stuff..etc

And sometimes stats helps you shade & drag other fanbases

But for me, All that I want from her, is to stay true to herself and to release great music.

I think maybe she was in a bad place at the time? All her interviews were like that but I saw her live and she seemed so happy and in a good mood with her fans.

I just want to see her perform the Honeymoon songs and talk about her inspirations and the meaning of the songs etc but even that she doesn't want to do.

All we get is grainy fan-made videos from her tours on youtube

I officially decided that I will NOT listen to anything from Honeymoon that is currently released anymore until the album drops. SO many times I overplayed the lead/promo singles to the point that when I played the album in full they felt out of place. I won't let that happen anymore; not with THIS masterpiece.

I need HBTB, TLY & Honeymoon to feel FRESH when I play it whole, laying in my bed.

Mess, no one in this thread is only in here for the success, some might want a few performances/videos but no because we're just here for success, we just want more material to stan for etc.
No one really expects Lana to slay too much and it's not an issue as long as the music is good.

Lana's slayage could be a nice complement to the quality, but she doesn't care and neither do most of fans, including me. A certain fanbase will probably try it if Lana should underperform, though they are likely to try it regardless.

You might be overreacting, honey. I can't think of anyone in this thread that honestly cares about her sales

I just want her to promote so that we have something to stan for -- new gifs, videos, pictures, performances etc. That's all.

I don't care about chart success either, never really did. I just want her music to be heard by as many people as possible because the quality is top notch, plus I love the emotion she puts into her live performances, love her voice - therefore it's only natural that I'd love to see / hear live performances from her.

Even if it's just a Spotify Sessions thing.

I'm thankful she's releasing new material so often, though. I remember a quote from the BTD era when she said that might be her only album for a while, I'm glad she changed her mind.

I don't think there's anything wrong with hoping for promotion. For me, it comes from a place where quality deserves success. It's a shame that she doesn't promote her music as well as we'd wish, but am I hung up on it? No.
