1. Is it better to do weights before cardio or after?
2. I workout late at night, like mostly after 11 (for about 2 hours/6 days a week) and I have noticed that after I'm done with my workout, I have a hard time going to sleep right after. Like, it takes me at least 3 hours to fall asleep, even on the days when I'm actually tired before the workout.
I've read that it's because your body is awake and pumped so it takes a while for it to get back to a relaxed state.
Is there a way to combat that? Cuz my semester begins soon and I can't be laying in bed at 4am trying to go to sleep.

YES! Weights before cardio... there are many benefits..just google them...and are you sure you can't change your workout time?... maybe wake up extra early with stuff already prepared? If you can't then try add some calming teas or supplement called Melatonin, maybe hot shower....

Hi guys, from 188 on early 2012 to 145 on 2014, I gained more weight now at 225 lbs. I am really not motivated tbh, all the stretch marks on my biceps, BELLY and side body are killing me. Any advice on how I jump start my "healthy fat loss" journey? Little changes I could make?

Stop eating sugar. Stop eating anything processed. Fatty foods are literally better than sugary foods, as sugar is just what turns to fat once it enters your body - but of course avoid both. Exercise is only half the battle.

Anyway, had a 6am alarm set for the gym and I switched it off and then fell straight back asleep until 8.15am and was late to work.
So will go this evening to make up for it, but as a formerly thin / shapeless guy, people have recently been pointing out to me that I'm looking broader and leaner, so finally something is happening - and I'm attributing that to my sugarfree diet (well, as little sugar possible - I still have a couple of pieces of fruit a day and occasionally a wee squirt of sauce with dinner, bad I know ), and I regularly go to weights and high-intensity aerobics-type classes that push me because I'm bad at working out alone.

Start with cardio (choose short but high intensity) first thing in the morning on the empty stomach..this is great for losing fat...then at least every other day do some sort of strengthening workout...pick exercises suitable for you and your body type (start with basic ones such as push-ups, planks, squats, and then get creative and add moves like narrow triceps push-up to side plank, standing plank walk-outs etc.)..do each exercise for one minute and then move to next one...repeat this in 3 sets (with 1-2 minute break between sets) and that should be your strength training (aim to 4 days a week).. you can alternate it with some kind of core workouts.
I agree that you should limit sugar, focus on whole foods and some call this myth but it works - don't eat late at night, have an early dinner.. don't forget that protein should be priority in your diet and drink lots of water (you can add lemon juice and ginger)...
If you get too tired then add natural supplements like ginseng and guarana...
Make your workouts fun...create energetic playlist, write down your goals and your progress and you'll get there..
This is the best way for anyone to lose weight and have a healthy body...workout and balanced diet are key...it will be challenging at a times but it'll be worth it...

It's ok to have a bit of fruit or even bit of sauce daily....especially when you workout that much...You might notice that you'll crave sugar more the days you wake up early and exercise..make sure you pick right choices then..

My family has a Type 2 Diabetes and Hypertension history..I think that would be my ultimate motivation to be "Fit". I never would be or plan to be bulky y'know. I just want to be "pushed" together or basically to be "toned".
Thank you guys, I'll take these tips to action.

I'm going gym shopping this weekend. Gold's is wicked cheap, but I may settle for something more small-town and exclusive.
Which gyms do you guys frequent?

I go to Gold's and be prepared it really is full of bodybuilders flexing half their workout and working out basically shirtless.
It took me a while to get used to it, but it's fine now.

See, that totally doesn't bother me. I love that whole atmosphere of douchey guys in tank-tops, rock music playing, etc. It's motivating to me for some reason.
Living in a college town, it's the busyness I'm worried about. I'm tempted to shell out the extra $15 a month for something locally owned and less frequented.

I live in a college town as well, and while it gets busy here there is still enough equipment available to work out comfortably.

My Diet starts September 1st!
There's only 4 months left for the new year. If I don't accomplish my goal, I will cry then kill myself
