She was in the studio for some days in between her private concerts (she's becoming a private concerts singer, she has done 5 these summer). Idk how long it takes to record a album, but for now, I got the feeling that's just a song.
I don't want to believe her team would be that dumb. They must know that Christmas singles = flash in the pan, Christmas albums = yearly mega-seller.
But if there was going to be an album this year, you would think they'd have said something.
Last year only 4 albums went platinum and one of them was Pentatonix's Christmas album released in October. Michael Bublé's Christmas album is one of the best selling albums of the decade. As you can see, Christmas music can be very successful.
Even Kelly Clarkson's Christmas album is certified Platinum (sold 785k as of November 2014), outselling both her Greatest Hits album and Piece By Piece. The sales are almost that of Stronger's which had a #1 global smash hit.
If she were to do an album, I'm sure she'd include it. She's too much of a fan of Mariah to not. The first half would probably be new-age Christmas songs ("Let It Go" or "Do You Want To Build A Snowman" for the kids) and the second half would be more traditional Christian/gospel type songs. So basically PRISM: Christmas Edition in terms of format.

Birthday is ATRL iconic though, both for underperforming despite sounding like a TD-era level smash and anytime it's something/someone's birthday it gets posted by someone (it's especially shady when posted in a Gaga/Taylor thread or towards a Gaga/Taylor stan. )
