My schedule this semester is a mess tbh.
I've already done all the advanced biology courses so I'm now doing Biol 101. I needed 5 credits so I took Chem 101, and I'm taking Pre-Calculus Algebra since I had to drop down from the Calculus I For Engineers because I had to withdraw since my professor didn't help me at all when I sat down with him one on one TWICE!
The thing is, Chem is like my least favorite science. Do you think I'll be able to do well in Chem 101 if I took Honors Chem at my high school and got an A? I'm worried since the homework is all online.
The thing is that all of these classes are at different times so I have no clue what do with myself for like 4 hours since the college is like a half an hour and I don't want to waste gas going back and forth.
Chem 101 is Tuesday, Thursday, Friday morning to afternoon
Biol 101 is Monday, Wednesday, Friday afternoon
Math 136 is Tuesday and Thursday evenings

Stay in school for those 4 hours. Do your homework! If you're done with that, use the extra time to prepare for tests! If Bio 101 is like it was in my school, you will have to memorize A LOT. So many scientific names and body parts. A lot of fun actually.
In Chem, for me, it helped a lot to read the book. I did much better in Chem 2(102) than Chem 1(101) because of that.

I'm starting my Bachelor's in Nursing on September 11th at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. All I've read about nursing is how much it consumes your life and people crying themselves to sleep from the stress I'm also extremely nervous to be living with 5 other males because I can not connect with straight men and they likely will all be straight

My schedule for my first semester is:
Chemistry 109 (Accelerated/103 and 104 combined)
Calculus 2
Spanish 4
Environmental Geology
I REALLY don't want Environmental Geology though. My schedule got ****ed up and I couldn't fit a Psychology class so my advisor told me to do that instead. The topic itself sounds kind of interesting but 1) the class is graded on a bell curve, only 10% of students get an A, and 2) discussion is 20% of the grade I'm majoring in Psychology but doing pre-med and I'm worried that, in an already challenging semester, Geo will be very hard to get an A in. I wanted to do Philosophy 101 but that would put me at 17 credit hours instead of the 16 I'm at right now and my advisor didn't like that idea. I was also considering just doing the first 3 classes and having only 13 credits since I have quite a few coming in and this is my first semester, but I fear that will look bad. Any opinions?

Amazon rentals are also your friend if you really can't get the pdfs.
Also most schools probably have a textbook exchange facebook group to buy old textbooks for like $30. At least mine does. You should look into it.

Good. Luck.
Linear Algebra is notorious, at least at my school as the hardest of the upper levels - Multivariable Calculus, Ordinary Differential Euqations, and Linear Algebra.

I think I'm going to apply and test the waters. Tell my parents if I get accepted, and see where it goes from here.
Currently my transfer app has 19 schools. I'm going to narrow it down to the Ivies (minus Princeton), Williams College, Sarah Lawrence College (not exactly the same as the others but I love it), Northwestern, Chicago, and Wesleyan. Then I'll do more research on major/field compatibility and cost.
Mess, I feel like this is what I should have done in applying for my first year. I don't even expect to get in anywhere because these bitches be selective as **** with transfers, but hey, lemme try.

Yes at you applying to Williams College and Wesleyan. Much love for my fellow NESCAC schools. Except for when we play them in sports.
I'm surprised you want to transfer. I thought you loved your college. I remember you going ham for it a year or so ago. What happened?

Good luck with nursing sis, It's a hard and underrated career! Also, I'm sure if they're choosing nursing as a major chances are they won't be the kind of straight. Hopefully...

Has anyone joined an IM sport? I'm hoping this isn't a reach of a question. Anyways, I really want to join rugby or rowing, but i have zero experience and I feel kind of intimidated just showing up. I'm getting busier and busier each semester so I fear being out of school before I ever take the chance.

I'm about to start my first semester at Stanford this next month! But the thing is, I'm not sure what I want to study. I'm thinking of either Communication or Political Science, but the research I've done is somewhat disheartening because it suggests that PoliSci is a bad degree to acquire. Communication/Economics was always my original plan, and I planned on going into business or working in publishing. However, I would also enjoy working in politics. Thoughts on how to decide?

Thank you I'm not necessarily living with other nursing students which is why I'm nervous... they could be like engineers or something

Do you intend on pursuing a master's degree/doctorate? Because communication and polisci are both fairly useless as an undergraduate degree. I mean, they'll have the Stanford prestige attached to them, which means you would still likely get a good job.

I'm majoring in PoliSci. I say go for it. You can always acquire other marketable skills (a double major, minor, learning a language, etc..). I'm a PoliSci major but I'm taking a finance sequence to gain skills for the finance field and I speak 3 languages, so I'm not concerned about unemployment. Also my school has great connections and alum who have very high positions and are willing to help. You're going to Stanford, so you no doubt will have a great alum network.

It depends on the major and school. In general double majors are kinda pointless career-wise unless they complement each other like, Econ and Finance or Computer Science and Math. But like biology and a marketing double major is different but pretty useless together in the grand scheme of things.
The only thing that goes well with any double major is a foreign language because that can be applied to any field.

Well, I mean wouldn't having the two majors give you more options in terms of career choice?
