But Sinnoh added the reward of using a move that fits the contest (using a beauty move in a beauty contest), as well as hindering you for using the opposite of it. So it adds more diversity to your move set. As well as timing when to use a certain move.
The dress up portion was basically just an expansion on the first part of the Hoenn contest where they rate your stats in whatever contest you're doing. But tbh it was kinna messy.
tbh tho they should replace the dance portion with the PR video from X/Y where you have to create a cute mini clip with your Pokemon. That seems more ~contest~ then a dance party.

They also took out combos and the audience.
Hoenn had a bonus system for using a move of that fits the contest by letting the excitement of the audience go up.
Ehm and how does keeping you from using certain moves add more diversity?
Anyway Hoenn's seems way more complex and challemging (
judging by how much there is to it compared to Super Contests)
and jamming defintely adds to the challenge.
As far as i undestand it Super Contests are just "use any move you like, except the ones opposite to the category and hope no one else picked the same judge"
