IKR, they're both the safest popstars by a longshot. It's just that Taylor has never once in her career taken a single risk lol. That's pretty much the only difference.
There's nothing wrong with playing it safe anyway. Not everything has to break boundaries. Not everything has to push the envelope. It's ok to go in to the studio and say "let's make a really fun pop song that people of all ages can dance to at weddings for decades to come" and come out with a song like 'Shake It Off.' Safe just means success is highly likely and can be expected, as opposed to "this will either change the game or flop into oblivion."

Mess. Switching Genres isn't risky, especially when you've been lowkey preparing the GP for it for years. Let's not act like she didn't have multiple pop hits from her last album. I could see if she was doing literally any other genre that isn't pop but she is.
Katy perry is the the safest out the pair! Even when she burned her blue wig she still played it safe, meanwhile Taylor has been consistently reinventing herself with each album (see: Red to 1989)
