There's nothing wrong with playing it safe anyway. Not everything has to break boundaries. Not everything has to push the envelope. It's ok to go in to the studio and say "let's make a really fun pop song that people of all ages can dance to at weddings for decades to come" and come out with a song like 'Shake It Off.' Safe just means success is highly likely and can be expected, as opposed to "this will either change the game or flop into oblivion."
