Not shown in a commercial /=/ the single not receiving any help from a brand.
It's literally proven the songs released under the Soundtrack thus far have benefited hugely because of them being under the franchise.
The Weeknd has never even had a single of his spend more than 2 days in the iTunes Top 40, nor ever make Billboard Hot 100's Top 40 period.
This single has been in iTunes Top 40 for 3 weeks now, and reached #6 on iTunes the day of the release. Even his single 'Often' which left the iTunes 100 in August, has recharted in the Top 100 (and is still there today) right after 'Earned It' was released. His album has entered Spotify's Top 100 Albums.
Where did this fanbase that never supported him from come from once he released under 50 Shades of Grey?
And now Ellie's who last Lead Single was almost out the Top 100 by this time (with more airplay) + has never had a single stay this long in Top 40 with radio support is in the Top 10.
Did she magically get this fanbase while taking a break from the era?
I mean, what are y'all not getting?

Yes. She has 2 hits as a lead artist. She isn't a threat nor someone who can occupy iTunes Top 10 for 3 weeks 'on her fanbase and star power'. Neither is The Weeknd, and this has been proven by all their singles before.
I don't get what's hard to understand.

The Weeknd's song has been out for over a month and is Top 10.
He never even had a single reach Top 40 on iTunes prior. Is this his fanbase he never had randomly coming along? Since it's not hype from being attached to a big series?
My favorite

So we can expect The Weeknd's next single unattached to this Soundtrack to be Top 10 on iTunes for a month without radio support, 'since his profile got considerably bigger since his last album which sold under 200,000 copies'?

In my post I bolded "Rock Era" and you still failed to notice it?
You called me an idiot, what did you expect?
-----------
The Weeknd is smashing
I clearly meant what is the different between "Rock era" and the regular chart. Unlike you, someone else had the reading comprehension to actually understand my post and give me an answer.

How can you say you "clearly" meant what is the difference between "Rock era" and the regular chart when nothing in your post implied that
