What gets me is that these antigay incidents are occurring in ****ing New York City, of all places. If you're not okay being around gay people, then leave the damn city.

Police are currently investigating the incident but are not currently considering it a hate crime. No arrests have been made yet.

There is intolerance from all sides and the main thing people want to focus on is homophobia in one community and it is often used a scapegoat.

What? Nobody is denying that there is homophobia in the black community. The argument is that it's not any greater than in the white community and it's silly to sit here and pretend as if it's bigger in one community than the other. And there aren't any "numbers" to say that it is. And the argument of white gays being racist is very valid, and was used to counter the people saying blacks being homophobic is hypocritical, when the same could be said about gays who also have very problematic tendencies.
