Yes. Still good intentions if it derived from moral doctrine. And of course intentions don't necessarily make an action right, homophobia will always be wrong. *LMFAOOO mess I know this place. I have been on a date there with a guy before and last night I was actually a block away visiting a friend on 24th and 9th avenue. This dallas bbq is on 23rd and 8th by across the street from a movie theatre. Its a huge gay neighborhood don't know why the guys would go to that dallas bbq and not another one if he hates gays

Yes but we are talking about US vs Them in the context of racism, which clearly is not natural because it wasn't always that way in America. Before racism there was nationalism between settlers, which was totally justifiable seeing as there were substantial cultural differences between each ethnicity, which would naturally cause division. Ofc in the end white people of all nations had to band together to hold on to power and this agreement was far more calculated and conscious than the "deep-rooted psychological trait" you are trying to pass it off as. Keep trying. Homophobia isn't natural either, it is and was a norm in many cultures.

Dead I am not trying to argue that racism is somehow justified if that's what you're getting at, I'm challenging you for saying that homophobia isn't based on a us vs. them mindset when so much of it is. Yes, people will adopt this mindset into their morality and then justify said morality with religious nonsense but it doesn't mean it doesn't come from a similar (and equally unfair/irrational) place as racism.

That area of Chelsea is actually a strange mashup of gay and ghetto, because there's massive housing project between 23rd and 27th. That Dallas BBQ is also notorious for its lowbrow crowd and ghetto fights. There have been several gay bashing incidents in Chelsea because of this odd convergence of gayborhood with low income housing residents who aren't necessarily the most tolerant.

Chelsea is generally all gay people though. But yes there is a huge housing project that stretches 4 blocks I actually had to walk past it to get to 9th ave. Don't know how spilling a drink by accident causes the fight but the gays could have said a smart remark back. who knows.
