Now now, as much as I think Applause was a safe, generic attempt at a hit, GUY was no where near a commercial song. AO is safer than GUY. GUY's lyrics are really off putting for the GP.

It's just another EDM song imo....kinda sounds like" Love Game" and it has a typical dance-pop hook.

But you're right about AO being quite experimental for a pop star. They could make it a radio-ready song, we all know with a few changes it could be a smash (shorter, less noisy etc) but it seems like Rihanna wanted it to be released the way it is right now.
