The only album that was really doing something on iTunes was her duet album with Tony Benett and every other solo record was unnoticed.

Katy makes the SB performance and all of her albums shoot up on iTunes and her singles as well.

This pretty much shows that these days, Katy is selling her music, regardless how old it is, better than Gaga.

And there is no indication that it is about to change!

The time didn't effect Katy's songs from getting great streams and sales despite being released 5-6 years ago.

People still think they are listenable compared to Lady Gaga's.

You don't know that. The point is, carefree pop music can definitely be timeless as evidenced by Holiday/Get Into The Groove for Madonna, I'm Like a Bird for Nelly Furtado, Blame It On The Boogie for Jackson 5 etceteRA. Your argument holds no weight.

i think it's pretty clear that no one is saying katy is already timeless, but rather that based on that fact that her music is getting more views, plays, etc. CURRENTLY shows indication that she will be more timeless than gaga's music, also because gaga's is stale and very dated.

unless gaga really brings it with her next album (which i really hope for!)

A LOT of Gaga's music has aged terribly, but she has a few songs that I think will stand the test of time better than Katy's. I'm still split though. I wouldn't describe either of these ladies as timeless.
