Bubblegum pop music is never played in oldies music stations. Granted Katy's signature hits will be remembered (maybe) but in general carefree pop fades fast. Madonna's work was more than carefree pop and her image helped her solidify her music as timeless hence she is remembered. Katy is just one of many bubblegum artists. Sure she will be more played currently cause gaga doesn't have a decent album out yet, but in the long run her music is bound to be forgotten.
