My friend who is not into pop music at all, he only heard the song like 3 times before and when I showed him the Grammys performance he was already humming along the chorus.

Y'all who are not from EU probably don't understand but Europe doesn't use America. For example, when Rih performed in my city few years ago she had to pass by completely destroyed and demolished buildings that were bombed by NATO a decade ago causing many deaths, injury and radiation. You really think singing 'Breathe in American Oxygen, this is a new America' in the same city would ever be good?

And I don't want to ****ing breathe American Oxygen nor I want to associate myself with such in-your-face American propaganda and I'm a stan, so imagine how easy it could be for the GP to completely pay it dust.

Rated R is a great album but let's be real that was 6 years ago. We are in the here and now. Even if you don't like the song there are other great things going on for rih right now. She has promo coming up and she won't be just performing FFS either. All I can say is to be patient she has more in store, and her lead singles usually don't reflect the album or its sound or quality.
