Well listen to FFS more, It took me several plays to get into WFL, for example.

My friend who is not into pop music at all, he only heard the song like 3 times before and when I showed him the Grammys performance he was already humming along the chorus.
The song is memorable, stop. Just because it's not doing Diamonds or WFL numbers doesn't mean it's a flop.

okay I am sick of reading this as if the song is going to be about the state capitols and three branches of the US government it's about chasing a dream! the song sounds hopeful and soaring, which mean it plays on human emotion and universal experiences. it's really not going to seem awkward. a great song is a great song no matter what metaphor is used in the chorus
