She kinda did tho. Cancelled various performances (radio 1, Letterman). She got banned from french radio stations which were her biggest supporter for that reason. I don't know what her relations with Radio 1 is after that.
She broke up with her BF (Barrie) during the release of UV that might have caused the lack of promo and there were also label conflicts. She was seeking approval from critics which is a bad idea imo.
The main thing about Ultra is that it's just not accessible. My brain and ears are now used to the snot nose vocals on the album. I remember how much i hated that when I first heard it.
And Brooklyn Baby should have been a real single with a good video.
I still wanted to hear the album before Dan Auerbach involvement. I mean the Black Beauty demo and Angels Forever destroy lives.
I'd rather hear perfect vocals than messy snot nosed live recordings. I know she did it for art but damn i don't use.
