I'm reminded of the girls who run around like "I would NEVER let a man touch me, woo girl I wish he WOULD, ***** would be locked up with a broken NECK and some metal in his back by the time I'M thru", but then end up in abusive relationships for months, years, even decades.
It's easy to talk about how we would react to any given situation, but when it actually happens to you, especially with sexual assault and domestic abuse, it often is a whole different story. And I would never fault any of those girls for staying in those relationships, nor would I call them hypocrites, because that's HARD to go through. These crimes are more than physical.

So when you're getting ready to go out, you look in the mirror and consider whether you've made yourself a target by dressing too provocatively? Do you walk in the club and scan for guys who give red flags? Do you have to make sure you have a friend with you, so that you're not left alone and made an easy target? Do you actually worry about your drink getting spiked, not because you any drink left alone could get tampered with, but because you know someone could be setting you up for sexual assault?

Like please, miss me.
Yes. Because rape isnt the only crime that exists.
Idk Doc. I hear what you're saying but 85% of my thoughts tell me that that this is natural causality and only 15% society. Is it really society dictating male hyper sexuality and aggression, hence the need for all of the protective measures you describe, or something natural showing up in society? Because sexual over-aggressiveness in male species: dogs, lions, tigers, even fish in nature is'nt something unique to humans. So why should we take the "blame society" approach when this is something that could perhaps be given a biological basis.
I believe society supports hyper sexuality, but females falling victim to male sexual aggression isn't exclusive to humans and I don't find society to blame here. :/
That went out the window when you pretty much asked me, "Do you dress and prepare to out in a manner that would not make you a potential victim of a crime?"

How can you compare us to animals when the reason we're the superior beings is because of our mental awareness, the ability to have empathy and realize the consequences of what we do? I guess murder should be fine too then because its natural in the animal kingdom? Society is definitely to blame if men think they can use women's bodies when they please. Plenty of men have the same sexual needs or sexual aggressiveness as rapists but they know how to control it and act accordingly

Humans are not animals and are not expected to act as such. They're supposed to be civilized. Society definitely is sexist and makes men feel like they're entitled to women sexually. Humans have morals and sexually assaulting someone is not moral at all.
EDIT: Like Karebear said animals do a lot of crazy **** that humans should NOT be doing.

Because humans are animals. We are also not above our biology.
We can take drugs to assist, but chemicals still dictate our behavior.
I'm very out, but being raped and getting my "ass taken" unwillingly would definitely hurt and be embarrassing to reveal, but if it happened I would still not let someone get away with it.
I don't doubt the psychological aspect of it all. I can only speak from experience. I haven't witnessed the "fleeing from their communities" part in modern America, but I do know how living with a sexual crime effects the victim. Luckily in my experience with it the victims, in all cases, were never afraid to speak up.
But I get it.
I'd also like to also point that false negatives exist ESPECIALLY in sexual violence crimes. Your last sentence should be changed to "in all cases that I am aware of".

Nah, I don't accept that. That just opens up excuses for rapists—"I'm sorry, but it's in my nature as man." At this stage in human evolution, the differences that exist between men and women are, aside from the obvious physical differences, all society's doing. Men and women have the same mental capacity, and even if one disagrees, both have and have had for centuries a brain evolved enough to transcend any "vestiges" of this animal nature that you speak of.
Women don't consider those things I listed because of nature, they do it because of society. Society says rape victims shouldn't have dressed so provocatively, so they take that into consideration. Society says rape victims shouldn't have drank so much, shouldn't have been alone or out so late, should have been more attentive to their surroundings, so women take all of that into consideration. Society tells the victim—the woman—how they should behave in order to prevent this crime, instead of hammering on the offender—the male—and telling him, well, just don't rape.
It's like saying Black men have to worry about whether or not they're dressed too darkly or too threateningly because nature. Animals with coats that contrast their environments have to take extra precautions to protect themselves, it's the same thing. The animals that stand out and don't take those extra precautions get eaten, and that's there fault. And now we're victim-blaming. It just doesn't work. Humans cannot use animal behavior as excuses for bad behavior.

"Men get raped in such low rates compared to women that it's not something we even have to think about."

I thought it was clear I was talking about sexual assault. I think it's pretty clear Black men have other things to worry about when dressing, but that definitely doesn't involve dressing too provocatively lol.

The second paragraph is great. Personally, I feel that females should be protected, just like children should be protected. But this is something with a biological basis and not just because of "society".
I do not believe that humans have transcended their biology as a whole. So I'll need more from you regarding that. We all are largely affected by biological responses like any other animal. For us to believe that we are so much above biological responses because of our perceived cognitive advantage is pretty arrogant.
I do however believe, that our desire to protect our women is a result of our heightened cognitive ability, because that is somewhat inconsistent with what happens in nature.
They dont have anything! again, hearsay isnt evidence.
You don't know what they have. It hasn't been (and might not ever be) taken to court. They could be gathering miles of evidence, witnesses, etc. but people are too focused on when he did the alleged crime rather than if he actually DID the alleged crime.

.
Maiko girl I say a lot of stupid **** but stop while you're ahead. The way you just put women on the same level of children . Like they're so weak and need to be protected by men. You're like an Anti-Feminist, Beyonce would be ashamed.

In a way I am, very traditional. But the women I've dated do not complain about this.
I see it in nature, and I do not believe that a males desire to protect, hunt, and etc, just like a woman's natural ability to take care of children, is completely a bi-product of societal constructs.
How does a Black man even dress too provocatively? Is he sagging in tight underwear that shows off his great ass (which is one of the reasons why I don't mind sagging )? Guarantee if that guy got raped, people wouldn't say he asked for it because of how low his pants were.
But let a woman be in the same situation and all of a sudden "she wanted it!!1!1!1!!" Keep your DICK in your pants.
