Actually it isnt the same thing, the other thread was ABOUT how you get music, people just only talked about the one way [pirating], not my problem. This is NEWS in the music world which is why I posted this article in the MUSIC NEWS FORUM! Get it?

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong...wrong, wrong, WRONG, wrong. You're wrong. You're wrong. You're wrong.
Both threads have to do with the illegal downloading of music, thus, they SHOULD be in the same thread. Do you get it now?

Music isnt a RIGHT, you have to buy it. If you dont have enough money you can't have it! A lot of people can't afford a brand new car, doesnt mean you can go out and STEAL IT! A lot of times I go out and I am just buying one thing like milk and I want gum but I just dont have enough change on me, so I don't buy the gum. I don't steal it just because I dont have enough money and I would rather have milk in my fridge. Its common sense.

Apparently, my advice to let off of the gas pedal a bit went unnoticed, so I'm going to assume now that you are a troll.
EDIT: And I just now noticed that he "left the thread". Bye!
Okay, on a more serious note...

Stealing is not the answer because then someone else bears that burden of expense. So your logic then justifies looting? Where do you draw the line? It's this selfish code of ethics that's got our country in a recession right now. I'm not saying the music industry doesn't deserve some of the blame, but I don't understand your logic at all. In the 90's, if we were going through a recession, it never would have occurred to you to walk into a CD store and steal CDs because you knew you'd most likely get caught, but with the advent of the internet suddenly now you feel it's okay because it's almost guaranteed you'll get away with it. That really says a lot about your integrity. Character is who you are when no one's looking, remember.

...it's because I don't have any freaking money. That's my logic. If it's really that hard to understand, then, honestly, I don't even know what else to tell you, because you will never completely understand. Is it a 100% justifiable defense? No, not really. But at least I'll admit it.
On a semi-unrelated note, let me pose you this problem solving question: Suppose I stop downloading illegally. Now, I need to find a way to preview some songs before seeking out the album. I try to YouTube songs first. Oh, they're not there, because YouTube is cracking down hard on copyrighted material, to the point where GUITAR HERO VIDEOS are being muted. Okay, so MySpace, then. But wait! What if the songs aren't up on certain artists' MySpace? So THEN how am I supposed to preview music? The radio? Please. The only radio stations out here, other than country and gospel, are an older "new music" station and classic rock. That's it. So...the only option, then, would be to buy the album, without previewing it, to see if it's worth buying. And don't say Last.fm, because, while they do have full songs, they are nowhere near the point of MySpace.
The point I'm making is this: If YouTube's cracking down on copyrighted material, and MySpace doesn't have the songs, and I don't have a radio station to try out new music with, how am I supposed to know if an album is any good or not? How am I supposed to know whose music is great and whose music blows? And, just so you know, blind buys are not an option. This is what led me to buy Puff Daddy's
Forever, the single worst purchase I have ever made in my life, and I refuse to blind buy again.
Let me make this clear, though: if I had money to throw around, money that could be spent on the luxuries of life, then yes, I would freaking buy albums all the time. I don't know if they would be CDs, though, because I really do think that CDs are a dying breed, and that digital downloading will be here for the foreseeable future. I would still download if I can't find the songs on MySpace or YouTube, to see if they are worth my money, but I would buy them, if they are good enough.
Oh, by the way...
"It's this selfish code of ethics that's got our country in a recession right now."
The stupidity of this country's leaders got this country into a recession, not their greediness, though I could see how greediness and stupidity go together.
