Taylor like Beyoncé (tho I hate to say it) look better w/o the paint. They are Naturally Pretty Girls.
They both look harsh and older with make-up. Rihanna is cute w/o but stunning with make-up.
If I were a man I would prefer to wake up next to Taylor and Bey.

I agree about loving the natural looks, but what is up with this picture? It's so edited and doesn't look like her

You know Taylor ain't about losing coins. If she goes to South America, Robert Allen is looking at countries she sold the most albums.

Interview with Taylor's first manager, Rick Barker!
snippets
Quote:
She wanted a gold record, so she met 500,000 people. People laughed at her and I in the beginning. Here's this 16-year-old kid and a guy who came from small town radio. But they weren't laughing in the end. Now she's changing the game. I'm so proud of her and I don't take any credit. We both wanted to learn and we taught each other a lot of things. She was amazing to learn from and I'm honored to have been a part of it. She did the work.
everybody likes to think her daddy bought her this or, because they had money, that happened. It's all ********. There's no shortage of daddies with money with daughters who sing. If that's the magic pill, why don't we have a 1,000 Taylor Swifts?
Right. That company – ARK Music Factory – that attracts Rebecca Black and others ...
And that's the thing! If that's the secret, if it's, “Well, she has Scott Borchetta on her team,” then great. Not every artist on Big Machine Records has gone on to Taylor's success. “Oh, well, she had the best players on her record.” Great. Well, those players have played on other people's records, too. So why don't they have Taylor's success? Why? Because they don't have Taylor Swift's work ethic. You cannot teach that. Everybody thought, “Oh, ****. We'll just show up to Nashville with our daughter dressed in a sundress and cowboy boots. That's the secret!” That wasn't the secret. The secret is Taylor cared so much about her fans and she used her music as a way to do research, then sold that music to her friends. Most other artists record an album, try to sell it to strangers, then wonder why it doesn't sell. That's because people forgot how to build relationships. Not Taylor!

I hope there's a Taylor tribute when they're going to give the most prestigious award at the AMAs.

On why Taylor sold so much more than Katy:
Two number one singles, three platinum (or more) singles, one gold single, over 1.5 billion YT views....I would say she's doing pretty well so far.
As for why:
(1) Taylor had the biggest Clear Channel deal in post-FCC giving a **** about payola history--not for the first single, but for the first single, the album, and the second single. Prior to that, Monte Lipman at Republic buttered up MDs and PDs at Pop radio (all conglomerates) even more so than he did for Ariana.
(2) Big Machine handed a fat check over to Eddy Kue at iTunes to take up the entire front page ad-space (can't compare it to Beyonce, because she gave iTunes the exclusive).
(3) Taylor "partnered up" with Coke (television)
(4) Taylor "partnered up" with Target (television)
(5) Taylor "partnered up" with American Express.
(6) Taylor "catered" to her stans. The whole including different polaroids in different deluxe edition physicals thing was far more "really?" than Katy or Mariah ever releasing a remix of a single with a rapper.
Simply put, a **** ton of money went into securing Taylor's sales--slightly more than Timberlake, definitely more than Beyonce, and a hell of a lot more than Katy (or Lady Gaga). I wonder if Big Machine has even seen a return yet, honestly.
Plus, she saturated the entire market. The hype was insane (and all manufactured). The album is good, but it's not a masterpiece.
Katy had a short Walmart ad the week of release and a Chase Bank commercial to promote her tour. "Roar" and "Unconditionally" had one day Clear Channel deals (Taylor had one week deals for both, in addition to every song on the album being played, as stated above).
Taylor released a better second single.
Katy's fans can blame her team or her label, but the truth of the matter is, she didn't want to saturate the market like Taylor did. She knew the success of Teenage Dream couldn't be replicated, and even more so, she didn't want people in the industry thinking her success was due to factors other than her music and popularity as a pop star. She sent a few cakes to radio stations. Literally....some cakes. That was her way of saying thanks for your loyalty. There were no extraordinary deals. She didn't take down the poor vocal performances of "Unconditionally." Meanwhile, what happened to "Blank Space" live at the Clear Channel concert? A day after it aired, it became a 30 second snippet. Her "extracted" vocal from the VMAs went away more quickly than BEYONCE links the night her album dropped.
Just like every other artist, though, something is going to happen eventually (it always does when you achieve that level of success), and sales will inevitably decline as she ages. She should enjoy it while it lasts. There's a lot of screwing over in the industry due to labels suffering, egos being more inflated than ever (artist and label), and artists' teams operating like PACs and not always taking the high road.

A Katheryn stan who is apparently an insider. Taylor's slayage has been too much for he/she to handle, so they had to vent.

Lmao @ "insider"
I can't at a certain fanbase trying to find excuses for 1989's slayage.
I'd love to see their fave try.
And Bye @ one of them trying to come for lord her impact. They'd better be seething once the younger generation of singer songwriters cite lord as their inspiration.
Call her overrated, lord is still the best mainstream songwriters out there

The problem with Katy is that she's not really talented. 60 mil twitter followers and yet no one invests in buying her albums. The music industry doesn't respect her or she would've won at least one Grammy by now. She's the one who turned 30 and still considered a joke. Boobs with no substance. . The US media doesn't care about her music, the most press she ever got here lately is when she dated John Mayer.
I've never heard Pharrell, Calvin Harris, Will.I.Am , Ryan Tedder, talk about wanting to work with her. They know where the real talent is and it's with Taylor. No Legend.. Like Bruce, Dolly, Carly Simon, has spoken about how great she is.
Mick Jagger even called out for her lies. Denied her claims that he hit on her. Now that's sad.

That moment when you realize it's only been 3 months, yet the '1989' era has:
- Highest Digital Sales Week of 2014. (SIO's debut week)
- A #1 debut on Hot 100.
- 2nd Album Highest Opening for a Female; Highest of the Decade.
- First female to replace themselves at #1.
- Only Platinum & Multi-Platinum Album by an Artist in 2014 just in 3 weeks.
- Woman of the Year by Billboard.
- 2 of the 3 fastest singles to hit Top 10 on Radio this decade.
