If the amount of publicity she received thanks to the surprise release gimmick wasn't enough to push her to 1M in 10 days (even with the aid of physical copies, like I've said previously), I doubt some performances would have helped much.

It wasn't a gimmick. It was a release strategy. A gimmick is Miley "twerking" and her "urban makeover". Learn the difference.

News reports aren't the same as having performances and interviews, how many times does this have to said? It's not hard to understand.

And for the last time she didn't have full physical support. No Target or Amazon. Yet she still almost hit 1M in a week.
