And like...the concept of ARTPOP is unbelievably golden: to bring art into the sphere of pop and call it ARTPOP, just the opposite of Warhol (Reverse Warholian expedition, anyone? ), who injected pop culture into the art world and called it pop art. That's just...too revolutionary for words. I understand that some people will argue that this is a load of **** because the concept was arguably not reflected in the material, but I honestly think it's because of all the mess that happened during the era. Had the original plans of the era happened (videos for every song, interactive app, Act II, etc.), I honestly think the concept would have been conveyed much more clearly. People forget she was only actively discussing and promoting the album from around August through April, with big chunks of nothing in between, which isn't nearly enough time to give a convincing representation of the meaning of an album as monumental as ARTPOP. Again, had the mess not happened, we could perhaps still be in the era, and things may have been a bit clearer.
1989 is like an album that you can listen while on road, studying. There is not so much depth in it like you should really pay attention to feel every piece of it. That doesnt mean it is bad actually it is good, just I dont undetstand the unbelivable hype.
