What I meant to say is, controversy fueled hits. No doubt WCS was destined to do well, but neither that or Wrecking Ball would've been as big as Problem, Bang Bang or Break Free without the help she got from them viral videos.
& my other point being Bangerz (the album) kinda flopped. Like guys, it barely outsold ARTPOP. Standards aside, we all had higher expectations and she failed to live up to them. lbr now.
@Global M let's keep it global. Rihanna and Gaga have outsold her WW and Katy will crawl her way there without the need of like 20 soundtracks. Also, Ariana's at 600k WW already, with holiday sales and future singles she'll inch her way past Bangerz sales. Don't let the opening week sales fool ya.
@Vladd Miley's a flop on radio and nobody cared about Adore You, so this 'debunking' thing doesn't really work when the second she stopped being shocking, so did her 'power' and 'impact' (which is a pointless thing to brag about, stop doing this). My Everything already took Bangerz in single sales and the album sales will follow. + no offense, but you also think this pscyho-duck thing era could do well, so as for anything to be 'lol''d it'd be that logic. still luv ya tho!
The shift in theme and sound throughout the album is in no way cohesive. The only real cohesive portion of the album are tracks 5-7. I will concede it's her most diverse, sure, but not her most cohesive.
