It's purely a business decision. But asking them to come back, it skips the audition process (which takes time and money) it wasn't anything personal against taylor, it was just easier for Katy and if she wants her past dancers back and they accept - she has every right to do that.

Katy had a personal bond with the dancers. that's why the dancers left in the first place because they were very good friends with Katy + they were bored in Taylor's tour.

Again, they were in the middle of Taylor's tour. You guys don't seem to have any idea how long it takes to work on a tour.
Katy is supposed to know that. She has A LOT of dancers herself and she knows how long it takes to make sure everything fits. Yet, she still asked to get three of her dancers back (she didn't force them, but even proposing it is rude) at the last minute, knowing that Taylor would have to re-work her entire tour in less than a week. Ridiculous.
If she wanted those dancers (which I understand why she would) she should have asked for them months in advance, not in the middle of Taylor's NA tour. Anyway, it's not like she didn't know she had an album coming out and she needed dancers. It might not have been public knowledge but she could have warned her colleagues that she wanted those dancers way before July 2013.

Why is it Katy's responsibility to figure out what dancers are free to work and which have prior obligations? That's the dancer's responsibility.
Katy shouldn't have to call around and see who isn't in a commitment, that's not her job.
Also, they danced with her for the previous tour, she invited them back, that isn't a foreign concept.

The dancers should have said "No, I'm sorry, we are already in the middle of a tour", it isn't Katy's job to research who actually has a job and who doesn't just like it isn't Katy's responsibility to worry about Taylor's tour.
This is how the world works, people move on to bigger and better things, get promotions, find new jobs, etc.... I guess some celebrities don't realize that?

Exactly, I mean heaven forbid Katy try and offer her past dancers a spot on her current tour. It's THEIR decision as to what to do with the offer.
It isn't Katy's responsibility to say "oh, well, I guess I'll find new dancers because Taylor is using them" If someone is good at their job you ask them to come back, especially when you have a great history and know their work ethic.

Right! Swift is either childish as hell or doesn't know anything about business. It's probably both since she's pissed at Katy...and wrote a song about it.

This isn't just a job at McDonalds, how many times will I have to mention how much work it is to make sure all the choreographies fit for every dancers? All the costumes? When three leave -and yes I'm pretty Katy influenced them to leave, forcing them or not- it ruins a big part of the show.
Taylor had to make everything else fit in less than a week. Each shows gross more than 1M, there is no time to mess around, it's very serious business.
I'm surprised Katy doesn't know that.Maybe the business isn't serious enough for her?

WAIT, I just read this part, you think KATY should have sent all the pop girls a big note saying
Quote:
My album is coming out, please don't hire Bob to dance this season because I want him all to my self.
Baby, you're a firework,
Katy

Why should Katy have to do that?

No? I think went she was planning her performances a few months before the release (even if she probably didn't work every single detail back then, she knew she needed dancers) she and her team should have realized that asking to have three dancers she was familiar with was a good idea. Since they were with Taylor, she should have acted professionally by sending a message to Taylor's team (not the entire music world ) that she needed those dancers. It's not too much to ask.

You don't have to keep saying it.
Again, that's business.
If the dancers wanted to go, they can go. If katys wants to ask them to go she doesn't have a responsibility to tell Taylor.
It wasn't personal (like what taylor is doing) it was a business decision that was best for Katy's tour and she was well within her rights to do it.
Again, thats like saying all the pop girls needs to tell each other when they're planning to release music so no one else releases music at the same time or that the countless stars who release music days after their competitors are unprofessional - they're not.
Katy and Taylor share the same charts. They are competitors. This is how the music industry is. You don't have to like it but you're not going to change it.

So then the following year, I started going out with her ex boyfriend John Mayer who was totally gorgeous but then he moved on to another cvm dump & Taylor was like, weirdly jealous of me. Like, if I would get a #1 without a discount, she'd be like, "Why didn't you hit me up for a remix" And I'd be like, "Why are you so obsessed with me?" So then, for the backstage party in my dressing room at the MTV Video Music awards which was an all-girls drinking party I was like, " Taylor I can't invite you, because I think you're a lesbian." I mean I couldn't have A LESBIAN at my party, JESSIE J was gonna be there in her *sexy two piece* I mean, right? She was a LESBIAN. So then her manager called my manager and started yelling at him, it was so retarded. And then she stopped doing country because my dark horse killed her white horse, and she came back in the summer with a pop record, all including her vocals and ass remained flat, she was totally scissoring Lorde, and now I guess she's writing crap.*

There is more than dancers though. They've been friends since 2008 and around 2012 something happened to change that. She's not writing a song about JUST the dancers, she's writing a song about a friendship that she lost.

Put it this way, the only people they can work for is Katy, from this day and out, smart?! Not necessarily. But if Katy tried to hire them back while they were still on the RED tour, then, yes, that's ****ed up in KP part
|
They're not happy with the tour because Taylor is untouchable. The real Lord said that do whatever makes you happy, so I don't blame them!
