Any which way you want to express your homosexuality/bisexuality. Dating a guy, joining LGBT groups in schools or outside of schools, attending LGBT rallies and walks. These are all expressions and ways people deal with what they're going through (to an extent). So, if a boy feels the need to wear a dress (or a girl feels the need to wear a suit) because it will help them express themselves a better way than painting or poetry, why is it so wrong to let them? Why let society's rule dictate their lives? Why blame the victim (the boy wearing a dress/the girl wearing a suit) and not blame the instigator?
I know the world isn't a safe haven and as open as we would hope it is, but it all starts with change. Why limit this change? Is it because you feel it is a reflection of your own parenting/how others will see you if they see your child wearing something not of their gender?
