Don't ever change 22 Two's Don't ever change.
And to answer the poll, they're both iconic. The Army will say BOMT, but the Hive will say SL. So it's more subjective than objective. But if we're talking about chart performances, it's without a doubt, BOMT.
The Beyhive has been at their highest level of delusion for the past few days with all these threads Someone needs to bookmark each of the threads, they're all so messy and delusional
But BOMT is leaps and bounds ahead of SL in terms of impact and legacy. I didn't see SL begin a new pop movement (teen-pop/bubblegom pop), nor hit number one all over the world, as one poster above mentioned, SL was a b-side, probably resulting in half its sales. SL is an amazing song worthy of praise, but BOMT is bigger and y'all have to accept that. Bey doesn't win everything.
Ya'll will STOP peddling that lie
1996 album, 30m sold WW
1997 album, 20m sold WW
1997 album, ?? (Diamond certified)
1998 album, ?? (Diamond Certified)
All before Britney made her debut in 1999, which was essentially in conjuction with Christina Aguilera's debut. I'm convinced ATRL is either too young to remember how massive these groups were (and too ignorant to do some research), or blatantly lies to make Britney appear more influential than she was.

...BOMT was debut single for Britney and launched her career to the top. It was no.1 in every country where it charted. Sold more than 8M+ physical copies + digital sales. Video itself it's one of the reasons why this song is so huge and memorable. Only video by female artist that is certified for 100M views on YT.
Everyone knew this song, from kids to old people. Even straight guys were singing it (saw some old Britney's videos). Lyrics are so iconic and even many celebrities covered this and it's used in many movies, shows, etc.
Here's video of people singing ...BOMT in London(If I'm not wrong) (I know that's karaoke, but again you can't sing some song if you don't melody...).
If you wanna have a video war we can do that....it's nothing
That could actually be cool. Their videos >>>>> everyone else's. Some make a thread!!!!
On topic, Bomt still >>>>> single ladies. Hell, single ladies (even though it is her most iconic video) does not come close to some of bey's other videos. (Off to watch sweet dreams.)
BOMT is a 16 year old song vs. Single Ladies which is a 6 year old song.
Which song do more people know? Single Ladies (more recent)
Which song has a more iconic video? Single Ladies
80's/90's babies (mostly) know BOMT; but that's where it stops. It's recurrent airplay is trifling, and the younger generation probably never heard of it.
If you're gonna argue something, at least something that would make sense. BOMT vs Say My Name or something.
