No one said her race was the reason she's successful. All I said is that it facilitated in part her success. A pretty white girl spitting in a blaccent over a digestible beat with a pop hook, that was definitely a part of her success, hence people writing articles like "Hip Hop is run by a white woman!". Of course it Fancy was a **** song, then all of that would be irrelevant. But that's not the point.

I don't want to include Nicki in this discussion, but since you did, I'll just say that people like Nicki do overcome their race in order to get played on Top 40. People like Iggy do not.

so what? I'm a stan and I don't know if she'll still be successful in the future and that goes for all of my faves, why won't people give her a break and let her enjoy her successful single? The media is obviously reaching when they say Iggy is changing rap or the best thing in rap yada yada yada we know. But that's their fault. If Iggy stopped raping in a souther accent, people will start saying she's successful because shes white, a blonde, etc. when will the anger/jealousy stop??

I do avoid her music, honey boo boo pie. I've only listened to "Fancy" off her new album and some older songs of hers before she blew up. I think one was called "P***y". And from that, I've concluded she appropriates the black culture.

People need to just let someone be successful without trying so hard to bring them down. I'm 99% sure if Iggy wasn't white no one would be saying all this crap about her even under the same circumstances (uses different accent for rapping, etc.)

Iggy doesn't dress like most black people in America do, her music videos aren't filled with black people, so how in the world is she appropriating a culture? Simply for rapping in another accept to be more appealing?

Also Nicki didn't really get popular (outside of the Urban community) until she started making pop influenced songs, so it's incredibly ironic people like to point out how that is the reason Iggy and Fancy is so popular
