Rih's tone and unique voice elevate songs. She makes them more infectious and her voice is memorable. I think that helps a lot because it's the reason her collabs are so, so good.

Katy only does pop and she's been working with Dr. Luke on almost every song. Her material isn't strong enough to win in the general fields and the Academy doesn't use producers like Luke. She'll have to have a foundational change in her approach to music if she wants that trophy.

Rihanna always won for her collabs and kinda irrelevant categories. Her most impressive win is Best urban contemporary album but she's only up against Tamar Braxton

It's great that Katy is always up for big categories but sadly she only has nominations. Rihanna is up for big categories aswell: Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Urban Contemporary Album.

Not when Rih's music is better, more diverse, more interesting, and more acclaimed than Katy's. But I suppose songwriting is the only thing that counts and every random "new artist" on soundcloud/at your local coffee shop/etc. or person capable of Kindergarten lyrics should get a Grammy

Well I don't think that's completely fair honestly. It's pretty clear (especially with Unapologetic) that Rihanna has a hand in writing a lot of her own music now.

Alternatively, she only REALLY has songwriting credits on 2/7 of her albums (as in like more than half the songs) and I would love to see her get more involved with the actual production so that she has more of a leg to stand on when it comes to her music being HER music, but that's just how I feel.
