Not because I'm raging about the finale, which really was the best finale of the show so far despite any misgivings, but because I don't want D&D fanfic to be my first exposure to some of the futures of the characters, particularly Sansa and Bran. Either that or GRRM needs to put out TWOW within the next year which lol. A shame, but I'll catch up with it later.

But I thought GRRM is the writer aswell?

They only know the end of the story , they didnīt know whatīs happen in the two books that GRR didīt write yet

He's written one episode per season for seasons 1-4, and while he says he wants to be more involved with writing in the future, that doesn't mean too much. GRRM has given D&D details about the overall endgame, but they haven't built up enough good will with me for me to trust that they'd do right by the characters in between that time. There's a reason why I'm so passionate about the books and I don't want that ruined by having my first interaction be with the show. Call it snobby, but I'm bummed out at the same time.

Fan fic?
So we have enough for Jon, Tyrion and Dany. They could spend more time on them.
Sansa could survive 2 or 3 episodes spoilesr free. But what is that controversial chapter you're talking about? Is it one of the chapters that leaked? I didn't want to read them but I might now

Oh I just copy/pasted from Tumblr. There was an interview some dude that had apparently read some of TWOW and said there was a controversial chapter involving Sansa. Nobody knows what it means!
And fanfic is exactly what SOME of the past scenes have come across as to me, just in the way that they distorted the characters.

I'm debating. I'll have to see what season 5 offers to cover. Not here for D&D winging 2 books and if they do, I'll have to stop.
I still want a prequel season after S5 but it probably won't happen.

And yeah, while they COULD spend more time on Tyrion, this episode did kind of potentially wreck a lot of his future arc, which is worrisome.

I read the books after watching s1 and s2 and I can say that it didn't ruin my reading experience.
I try to separate the books and the tv-show as much as I can. That's why I'm not always disappointed. They are 2 different animals. I guess after having many of my favorite books butchered by movies and tv shows, Im used to doing this now.

I wish I was the same way, haha. It's hard for me to separate the two, which is why I can be a bit critical of the show. And after getting so invested in the characterizations of these people from the books, it would be weird to see new material from the show, which has proven that it doesn't care too much about remaining faithful to the original characterizations. I wouldn't want that to ruin my future book-reading experience.

I think the show has been generally superior to the books. This is the first season where the show has stumbled a bit with its deviations; that is, some of them seemed to "waste time" without adding meaningful characterization or spectacle.

Really? I love Dany but Mysa was the worst ending!
edit: Wait, maybe you're talking about the best season as a whole?

Yeah, I definitely prefer season 4's ending to 3's.
But, as a whole, season 3 > all the others.

I agree, I don't want my books to be spoiled by the tv shows next few seasons.
And even of they completely change the show from here on out, they know the ending so the books will still be spoiled....
Tbh even if I stop watching the headlines all over the world once the show ends will be "_______ is king/queen of westeros"

Oh yea. I just edited thinking you were meaning this. I agree in terms of best season!
