We don't know how well Sony handles promo. You can say all you wnat about Interscope and Universal, but they know how to book those shows.

The song is produced by Alex Da Kid, he is signed into Interscope and his label is aswell. The song basically is Interscope material. Whether there is demand or not. Interscope could already have given it as demo to someone else.
The business is fast, just look what happened with songs like Funky Town and Guns & Roses, the moment Nicole didn't put them on her album, they were already re-recorded by the next person.
