[whilst Raven is lifting weights, Erik uses his power to lift the barbell high above her head]
Erik Lehnsherr: If you're using half your concentration to look normal, then you're only half paying attention to whatever else you're doing. Just pointing out something that could save your life.
[the barbells suddenly drop and Raven shape shifts to her natural blue form to catch it]
Erik Lehnsherr: You want society to accept you, but you can't even accept yourself.
I have respect for Kimberly, her music slays and she has pipes but she and we don't know what's happening back stage. Let's be honest, who would take an Australian rapper seriously here? Her tone is fine to me, its just business.
The post before my reply: "Authenticity is a big deal in the urban community."
Too bad "they don't use her", and she knows of that and isn't trying to please them.
Lol so pathetic.
And I thought its been established that the "urban community does not use her" so what are you talking about?
Someone like Drake raps a lot different than he talks. But he's a black male rapper so, duh, he's above the same criticism.
What I want to know, though, is what's the problem with her specific accent, how it harms people, and how one avoids it?
Keep that prejudice and sexism going, so much better than tweeting stereotypes.
Girl @ me being prejudiced and sexist because I'm calling her fake southern American accent out. Maybe her accent is actually offensive to the race she's mimicking. And you bring up Drake when first of all, he's black it makes a difference whether you want it to or not. More importantly he's not a Canadian rapping like he's been loving in Atlanta all his life. Take your stan glasses off and realize that what she's doing is offensive whether she intends for it to be or not.

Lol seems to me like you're the oversensitive one who needs to take the race glasses off though. How exactly does it "offend" you? Just don't listen to her music then if you don't enjoy it but saying it's "offensive" is reaching for the Southern stars.
While walking to McDonalds I heard FANCY being played and saw these girls dancing to it (yes morning hours)
I'm SO GLAD the PRINCESS has everyone SEETHING from afar
dominating planet Earth and making E-thugs bitter globally. While the haters slam their keyboards, Iggy is performing at sold out shows and slaying the charts.

Take racial glasses off. The nerve of you telling me to not be sensitive on a issue that is racial. I bet you believe that we live in a post racial society too? Sis might be "slaying" the charts right now, but it doesn't excuse the fact she's doing it while pandering MY culture.

I'm pretty sure it's not just YOUR culture and despite all the hate there's still plenty of people from it who endorse and love what she's doing (obviously) so yea, there's that
You should be more concerned in wasting your energy in actual real issues if you're so bothered, but I doubt it.

She's not pandering BLACK culture. I'm BLACK myself and I don't see what she's doing wrong. As matter as fact, she's making hiphop/rap/urban positive for once. Not feuding with artists or talking smack
like how the Japanese don't care about the West "copying" their style to look Japanese, etc.
I love the fact that we're pressed because she has two hits on the charts right now. Not because she's appropriating a culture.
WELL I didn't see most of you here caring about her a year and two years ago so passionately so YES her having "hits on the charts" is definitely related.
