Okay I kind of see where you're coming from now...but you did NAWT just compare Bliss to Sunflowers
A song about making love and sex to a song dedicated to her deceased Father and about a loved one who has passed on.

LordT

Image wise yeah much hasn't changed, Genre wise that hasn't changed, and probably not going to( and you can say that ab out a lot of artist)

Musically?! eh still not quite following...

Sonically, they are not the same at all.
However, I would say that Butterfly is a much more R&B version of Daydream.

(Not counting Glitter because... )

Back on topic though

I agree McBeth. Like I kind of get where he is coming from image wise, but musically. I just DON'T see it. I think he over did it a biT. I mean if all of her 00's albums mare a rehash of Rainbow, then like you said : Where were the uptempo bangers like Heartbreaker, HBremix, X-GF.

Most of Memoirs was composed of Ballads and R&B slow jams

That album had no damn momentum WHATSOEVER.
It was like a cheap imitation of Boring Box.

I love Abel to she got ha ass dragged
I agree with you except for the Memoirs of G0d drag. Not while stanning for Rainbow you won't!

Point is, while the albums are all different, they're all fundamentally similar. You could mix and match the songs post Butterfly in infinite combinations to make a cohesive record. Just like her first two albums were different but still similar, hence Unplugged being so cohesive.

Butterfly is nothing like Daydream.
Music Box is nothing like Emotions/Mariah Carey.
Mess.

Bliss and Sunflower For Alfred Roy? Sis what?!?!? I'm convinced that you're never heard either. One is eargasm and the other is a personal ode to her father. Like what? When? Where? How? Shake It Off and Heartbreaker are similar thematically but that's it. D0ct0r, you're worrying me. Sure the rest of her albums after Rainbow are R&B (sans Glitter) and so forth but they have nothing else in common other than the $lutty image.

nnn Obviously not lyrically. I'm only talking about sounds. Bliss is not dissimilar to Sunflowers sonically. I'd say it's probably somewhere in between Sunflowers and Yours, the latter which would easily fit on Emancipation for example.

All I'm saying is that her sound went through much change and evolution through the 90s, and she finally found the sound she wanted to stick to with Rainbow. That's all it is.

Y'all are taking my words too literally. Am not saying all the albums are equivalents or are rehashes of each other. All I'm saying is that the general sounds haven't changed much. You hear CLEAR differences sonically between the first two albums, Music Box, Daydream, Butterfly, and Rainbow. But once you get to Rainbow, sonically the sound is set. Now it's all about the growth and change of the artist, rather than of the sounds. 'Tis all am saying.

Sunflowers is something that could be on Rainbow. It's sonically ethereal, and it does fit in nicely with Petals, and Rainbow (Interlude).
