I don't know… will Rock? Will Hip-Hop? Will any other genre that ISN'T pop have another golden age or will we, as a generation, except the fact that genres that venture outside the popular sound will always keep evolving without us noticing because we're too wrapped up in what everyone else is listening to? Will we, as a generation, notice that music has been around for many generations constantly evolving and making new strides and our generation has only been around for half of one? Will you notice when urban music continues to change or will you continuing referencing back to how it "used" to be?

Personally, I think the term "forward thinking" is pretty subjective when it comes to broad genres like R&B. There's many artists who don't necessarily experiment heavily with their music, but that doesn't make it bad.

You don't have to have music like Frank/Jhene/The weekend/Drake to be considered great or "forward thinking".
