It's starting to show signs of hope again thanks to a handful of artists, but I don't find the genre as enjoyable anymore. Very few are doing anything that compares to those jams from the 00's, in my opinion. I wouldn't call current R&B "trash" though.
The idea that you have to go looking hard for good music from a specific genre implies that the genre as a whole is full of lousy music
Or maybe it's the problem with labels and radio spending their money and time on the so-called bad stuff and not giving the ones who need and deserve it a chance.
I feel like we're in the digital era where music is way more accessible than just a CD and radio spin. If you're a true fan of music, you'd look. You're not helping the situation by complaining either.
lol @ Audrey wet paper bag whining over Weeknd Throwaway beats bein R&B.
anyway, I think R&B is going through a ratchet stage right now where R&B singers are acting more like rappers (smoking, getting tattoos talking about ghetto **** etc.) more than rappers themselves.
I mean look at the last R&B singers that blew up:
On some straight ignorance lol.
like
Funny thing is that I actually like this level of iggnance. "HOW MANY HOOOOOOOOOOOES..." lol
Precisely. I shouldn't have to go on a scavenger hunt just to find some decent R&B.
...Vin
The ignorance is real. The R&B songs and artists is out there, but it's a matter of person taste bew. The same I can say about Pop music. There's only a select that I know or even heard recently. "Dark Horse" & "CRTFY" to name a few. Besides that, I literally have to go through the charts or go on ATRL to take a closer look at other current Pop songs or what many are conversing about, because that type of material is not my forte.
